Dozynki: Polish Harvest & Food Festival - Be Polish for a Day
September 8th 2024
Please join us this year on September 10th to celebrate the Polish Harvest & Food festival/Dozynki and traditional Polish foods and culture.
Dozynki dates back to 16th century Poland and is a celebration of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. It remains a long-standing tradition in Polish communities throughout the world, including right here, in the Kitchener-Waterloo region!
This year’s Dozynki/Harvest Festival opens at noon and goes until 6pm, followed by a dance including lively polkas and other Polish hits.
Blessing of harvest foods will take place at 1pm followed by live entertainment including polish folk dancing in traditional costumes by Radosc Joy, and recording artist Ania Piwowarczyk.
Enjoy delicious polish food including authentic favourites like pierogi, golabki (cabbage rolls), Bigos (hunters stew) and assorted Polish pastries, and of course famous Polish sausage and beer.
There will be vendors selling various Polish goods. For children there is a playground, a bouncy castle and much more.
Entry fee and sales cash only. No ATM or debit available on site.
Admission:
$5 per person includes entertainment and donation to the Local Bank
Children under 14 free of charge
